Pinched Nerve

A pinched nerve refers to a nerve that has been irritated, inflamed or squeezed causing symptoms like pain, numbness, tingling & weakness.

A pinched nerve can occur in any area of the body.   A pinched nerve refers to a nerve that has been irritated, inflamed or squeezed  causing symptoms like pain, numbness, tingling and weakness.
Some examples of pinched nerves include carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), sciatica & thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS).  With all of these conditions, inflammation, swelling or spasm in the tissues surrounding the nerve leads to the symptoms.

Inflammation, muscle spasms and nerve irritation can often result from bones or joints that are misaligned or not moving properly   Misaligned or improperly moving joints are known as subluxations.  Your chiropractor specializes in the identification and correction of subluxations.

It is extremely important to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms.  Nerves that are irritated or compressed for extended periods of time, risk permanent damage.  If you suspect that you or a loved one has a pinched nerve, contact your chiropractor.
